The Value of Slowness

We have been taught to measure a life in output. I am more interested in what happens when nothing is being produced — the long afternoon, the walk with no destination.

Slowness is not laziness. It is the condition under which attention becomes possible.

Most of what I have written began as something I only noticed because I was not in a hurry.
